Grants
Got a great cause or project that's making things better for our communities? We're all ears. We love hearing your stories and may be able to help by providing you with a grant!
Before you begin, take a minute to learn about our funding categories and guidelines listed below. When you're ready, complete our online grant and sponsorship application to share all of the important facts and details of your request. In other words, showcase the impact that will be made possible with grant funding!
Funding categories
We are surrounded by motivated people doing meaningful work! In order to make the most impact, we encourage applications that focus on our key funding categories:
- Creating thriving communities
- Caring for those who need us most
- Providing long-term financial stability/security
Our giving committee reviews grant applications on a quarterly basis, so please pay special attention to the deadlines to ensure that your application is included in the review process.

Guidelines
In order to keep everything simple and streamlined for all of us, please consider these guidelines:
- Our grants are open to all 501(c)3 nonprofit or public service organizations.
- If you're unsure where your project fits, please feel free to send us an email and we can chat about about your work in more detail.
- If you’re asking for big bucks, like for a capital campaign or special project, let's schedule time to chat before you submit an application.
- While we'd love to fund all requests, here are a few things we generally don't fund:
- Individual schools, PTAs, and PTOs. We are focused on working with schools at a district-level in the communities we serve.
- An organization whose sole purpose is debt relief, political activism, or religious evangelism. We do recognize that excellent work takes place in faith-based organizations and will consider funding specific programs or initiatives within such organizations. Programs within faith-based organizations must be open to all, regardless of religious affiliation, to qualify for funding.
- Work happening outside of the communities we serve (Apple Valley, Eagan, Edina, Rochester and their neighboring cities).
- Youth and amateur sports teams.
- Run/walk fundraising events.
- Events and fundraisers benefiting one individual or a single family.
